It is common practice in the Archdiocese of Toronto that children in Grade 2 become eligible for First Communion and those in Grade 7 become eligible for Confirmation.

Families anticipating their children's preparation and celebration of these Sacraments (i.e., those who are in Grade 2 or Grade 7 as of September 2024), as well as older children who have yet to receive these Sacraments, are asked to prepare a copy of the child's Baptism certificate, available from the church where they were Baptized. This will be a requirement for registration in Fall 2024.
Families with children who were Baptized here at Saint Patrick's do not need to provide a copy of the certificate, but are asked to have an estimate as to when the Baptism would have happened.

Families are reminded that the Sacraments should be celebrated at the parish church that they regularly attend on Sundays, regardless of which parish their child's school is connected. It is therefore advisable that families are registered parishioners.

REGISTRATIONS ARE NOW OPEN
FOR FIRST COMMUNION AND CONFIRMATION!

Registration forms were handed out at the Information Meetings held on Wednesday 25 September and Thursday 26 September.

►What do I need to register?

You will need to submit the completed registration form (both sides), a copy of the child's Baptism certificate (if not Baptized here at Saint Patrick's, Wildfield), the $75 registration fee, and the completed Parish Consultation Survey questionnaire.

How do I register (when and where)?

You have two options for registration.

  1. Wednesday to Friday - from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the parish office (located inside the rectory, which is the house beside the church)
  2. After every Sunday Mass (including the Saturday 5:00 p.m. Mass) - please be mindful of the announcements made at Mass.

We are asking families to try and make sure your registration is in by Sunday 13 October 2024.
(We will have a grace period of up to and including Sunday 20 October 2024 to receive registrations.)

What if I can't pay the registration fee?

The registration fee will cover some of the costs associated with the preparation materials that wil be used throughout the program.
We understand that not everyone is able to provide for the full registration fee.
Whatever you are able to contribute is alright.
If the money is an issue, then it is not an issue.

What if I missed the Information Meetings, and I do not have a registration form?

Please come and see Ken after Mass on Sunday to pick-up a form and register on the spot.
Please have all the other requirements for registration ready to be submitted.
Note that you will be subject to the same foundational framework presented at the Information Meeting even if you were not present for it.

When are the classes? When are the celebrations?

You may see the preparation schedule as it stands at the moment by clicking on the appropriate button below.

Please note that the celebration dates outlined are TENTATIVE and may need to be adjusted. Any changes will be communicated to you ahead of time.
You will be notified once the dates are deemed final by the church.

In the Archdiocese of Toronto, children in Grade 2 and older are eligible to begin celebrating the Sacrament of Reconciliation and to the receive Communion. We welcome the children to the Eucharistic Table to receive Our Lord for the first of hopefully many times. The preparation takes place through the Parish, working with the families and our Catholic Schools. The celebrations are held at the Parish where the family worships on Sundays, regardless of the Parish to which the child’s school is attached.
