Father Vitaliano Papais
Our parish community is saddened by the news of the passing of Father Papais, whose last assignment was as administrator of our parish until his retirement in 2014.
Father Vitaliano Papais died on Sunday 8 June 2025. He was 85 years old and in his 61st year of the priesthood. He was ordained to the priesthood on 28 June 1964 for the Diocese of Concordia-Pordenone in Italy.
Father Papais had many assignments in his time as priest in the Archdiocese of Toronto:

- Saint Peter's, Woodbridge
- Saint Norbert's, North York
- Saint Bernard de Clairvaux, Toronto
- Saint Nicholas of Bari, Toronto

- Saint Patrick's, Wildfield (Brampton)
In retirement, Father Papais was in residence at Casa del Zotto in Toronto, and worked with Radio Maria Canada particularly with the Masses broadcasted on radio.
Visitation will be on Friday 13 June 2025 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Queen of Heaven Funeral Home (7300 Highway 27, Woodbridge).
The Funeral will also be at the Queen of Heaven Funeral Home on Saturday 14 June 2025 at 12:00 p.m.
Entombment will follow at the Saint Anthony Mausoleum at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him.
May he, and all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
