Preparing for marriage is about more than planning a wedding day - it is about preparing for a lifelong sacramental vocation. At Saint Patrick’s, Wildfield, we offer Witness to Love, a relationship-centered marriage preparation program rooted in Catholic teaching, discipleship, and parish life.

 

What Is Witness to Love?

Witness to Love is a personalized, step-by-step marriage preparation process designed as a marriage catechumenate. It invites you into a deeper understanding of the Church’s teachings on marriage and family life while surrounding them with authentic relationships of support.

Developed through years of pastoral experience, expert consultation, and prayerful discernment, Witness to Love fosters a strong foundation for a joyful and lasting marriage.

Choosing Your Mentor Couple

A unique and foundational element of Witness to Love is that you are invited to choose a own mentor couple who are selected and prepared for this important service to you.
This approach fosters trust and openness, authentic faith conversations, deeper evangelization, and long-term integration into parish life.
Your mentor couple becomes a lasting source of encouragement, guidance, and connection to Saint Patrick’s Parish well beyond your wedding day.

 

The Couple’s Roadmap

  1. First meeting with Clergy
    Couples thinking about getting married here at Saint Patrick's, Wildfield should approach one of our priests after Sunday Mass. From there, you will be walked through the process of preparing for marriage and scheduling your wedding day
  2. Introductory meeting with the Marriage Formation Coordinators
  3. Monthly meetings with your mentor couple
  4. Marriage Retreat arranged by the praish
  5. Dinner with your mentor couple and Clergy
    During your preparation period, your mentor couple will host a dinner for you and one of our priests. The conversation for the evening will be about how your preparations are going, and to highlight the Church's teachings about the Sacrament of Matrimony. 
  6. Integration into parish life
  7. Your wedding day
  8. Continued accompaniment
    Remember that it's a Marriage, not just a wedding!
