In the days following the passing of Father Vito, a number of events and comemorations were held.
These include the two days of visitation as he lay in repose at Saint Clare's Church in Woodbridge from Thursday 17 February until Friday 18 February 2022. Despite a massive snowstorm on the first day, a significant number of people came to pay respects. The location was chosen due to the church's size that can accomodate the needed protocols in place due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.
The Funeral Mass on 19 February 2022, also held at Saint Clare's Church in Woodbridge, presided over by Bishop John Boissonneau (Auxiliary Bishop for the Northern Pastoral Region of the Archdicoese). Although a limited number of people could attend - again due to pandemic restrictions. The internet livestream provided connected people far and wide in celebration of Father Vito's life, priesthood, and continued legacy.
Following Father Vito's own wishes, he is buried at the parish cemetery of Saint Patrick's in Wildfield. His grave is adjacent to that of Father Francis McSpiritt's, with whom he had developed a relationship of admiration. It is notable that Father Vito's grave faces the direction of where the new church building of Saint Patrick's in Wildfield is slated to be built.
On 12 June 2022, His Eminence, Thomas Cardinal Collins (then-Archbishop of Toronto) presided over a Memorial Mass in memory of Father Vito at Immaculate Conception Church in Woodbridge.
